If your sneaker treads have worn down or you need a new pair of sandals for the summer, Simple Shoes may have just what you need. Comfortable footwear made from eco-friendly products is always in style. Recycled tires make awesome shoes!
As the Simple Shoe group says about their ecoSneaks, “Get them now before they get all trendy and lame.”

Would You Use A Recycled Toothbrush?
Actually, the Preserve toothbrush by Recycline doesn’t reuse old ones, so don’t worry! It’s simply made of environmentally friendly materials so you can reduce your carbon footprint and keep your teeth shiny all at the same time!

Environmentally-Friendly DVD Cases

The standard DVD packaging is called a “keep case” – as in, “keeping around in the environment for a long, long time.”
Aren’t there any more eco-friendly DVD case alternatives? The blog Seven Generational Ruminations did some research on the subject, and came up with these options:
- The digipak. It contains some plastic, but is mostly cardboard.
- The Discbox Slider, which is described as 100% recyclable.
Of course, with the popularity of streaming online video and direct-to-download movies, we might one day be keeping our film collections on our keychains. But until then, we can all make our digital experience just a little more green!
Or, you can fold your own DVD or CD case.

Earth Week Gear
While Earth Day may not exactly be the best time to run out and buy more stuff, there’s a lot of great eco-gear to be had. And some cool eco-friendly thing may make the perfect Earth Day gift. For shirts, crafts and other fun items, check out these environmentally aware online shops:
Café Press: This shop has some great T-shirts with clever environmental messages.
Eco Mall: It’s like your average shopping trip, but it’s all environmentally responsible, too.
Ten Thousand Villages: Promoting fair trade and sustainable practices, this store is great for unique gifts.
What Would Al Gore Do?

Whether fighting global warming or ManBearPig, I'm ready to follow Al Gore. And to show my support, I might just have to get one of the new WWAGD reusable shopping bags.
That's right. Before you turn on a light or buy items shipped from far away, think "What would Al Gore do?" He won a Nobel Peace Prize, after all.

Biodegradable Sunscreen
Surf’s up! Heading out into the sun, we all know to put on sunscreen. But at the store, you may want to grab the biodegradable sunscreen instead of more chemically-filled alternatives. Why? Think of all those chemicals washing off and going straight into the ocean. Plus, the biodegradable stuff is better for your skin too. With that news, it’s time to hit the waves and get a tan.

Organic and Natural Bedding
We spend about a third of our lifetimes dozing off – shouldn’t we do it green?
Organic linens are a great option for the environmentally-conscious. You can purchase bed sheets colored with eco-friendly dyes and treated with non-toxic chemicals. Rest your head upon a pillow stuffed with natural fiber such as wool, organic cotton, or buckwheat hulls (softer than it sounds). There are also several awesome options in organic mattresses, including those made of naturally-comfortable 100% rubber or with rubber and metal springs.
And don’t forget a pair of soft and durable organic cotton flannel PJs! Feeling sleepy…
